Hey everyone I started up a Mets Blog that I plan on updating every day. I already have up some stuff about Mike Pelfrey our #1 draft pick who I saw pitch for the Binghamton Mets the other night along with some pictures. Check it out and feel free to leave some coments and let me know what you think. Enjoy. - Kevin

Wouldn't you know, Glavine won it again, even though he looked pretty terrible out there. He was helped out quite a bit by some awful defense on the Marlins' part though.

Also, I recommend looking at this. (Thanks to homebrewed for the link.) I have a wierd sense of humour, but I find that sort of thing HILARIOUS.

Glavine day [25 Jun 2005|08:24am]

socratic
Tom Glavine will be pitching for the Yankees today. As usual when Tom Glavine faces a team their bats will be hungry like the wolf. We all know the result will be to undo Pedro's magnificent performance. There are, however, things that we don't know. Things that we can only learn through

A POLL!

Poll #519990 Glavin X

1(11.1%)
Tom Glavine wants to win. He just can't. Because he sucks.

Tom Glavine and Pedro Martinez will become step brothers

Only for the players on the field, the fans can weep to their heart's content.

I know that glavine_support has been quiet recently as Tom Glavine has pitched if not well then at least respectably. We have stood by and hoped, just hoped, that Glavine might turn things around. WE SHALL STAND BY NO LONGER.

Fellow Mets fans on this Father's Day glavine_support is here to heal your pain. We know that you are sitting there thinking of your own fathers and their love for the New York Mets and how Tom Glavine has betrayed them. We know you are crying. Don't cry. Take our poll. Take our poll and get drunk enough to forget how Tom Glavine has betrayed you and your father.

[ mood | sad ]

Glavine is pitching tonight against the Hotlanta Braves. Let us all bow our heads in silent prayer that he gets hit by a truck before taking the mound.

To pass the time before at the umpire's signal he UNLEASHES HELL you can take a wonderful poll!

Poll #500042 Death before Glavine

Since Tom Glavine is pitching against the Atlanta Braves there is absolutely no question of who will win. That being said, how many games will the Mets lose in the standings tonight after their complete annihilation?

Only one, as per a normal loss
5(38.5%)
Two, as per any loss by more than 100 runs
2(15.4%)
The season ends May 24 2005
0(0.0%)
The Mets will be shamed into becoming an AAA team and moving to Norfolk
0(0.0%)
The entire National League will fold under the power of this loss.
6(46.2%)

Most experts predict that Tom Glavine will go fuckin' nuts and start shooting random Mets from the mound tonight. Who will be killed or critically injured?

David Wright and Jose Reyes, there goes the future.
0(0.0%)
Nobody. Tom Glavine will shoot three feet to the right and hope to get the call
4(33.3%)
Everyone except Kaz Matsui, who will dodge the bullets like they were grounders.
6(50.0%)
Only Willie Randolph. Everyone else will duck but he will refuse to go by conventional wisdom

here's what i'm most concerned about regarding Glavine (stolen from mets-geeks.com)

Tom Glavine 2006 Option Countdown

Innings Needed: 164.1
Innings Pitched: 30.2
Innings To Go: 133.2

not only does the asshole suck, but he has to go out there and suck for 6 innings at a time. randolph HAS to put him on a shorter leash than that. and to tell you the truth, i'm glad the brewers won this game. i'd almost feel bad for the brewers if they didn't win a game against this piece of shit.

3 outs forward, 2 runs back.

Well hey at least Mike Fucking Hampton is about to throwa 90 pitch complete game shutout in Atlanta.

You would think one of the guys in the dugout would say something to him. Something along the lines of, "GET OUT COMMIE!"

Thank you and good day.

Edit: Of course thats gonna be a 1 hit complete game shut out for Hampton.

Double Edit: Hampton just cranked one. I have no words.

BTW, that secret's out:

Could these announcers be any further up Tom Glavine's hoo-haa?

Here's a tip:
If the opponents manage to weakly hit a few balls into play and eek out a bunch of runs against you in one or two games you're unlucky. If they do it game in and game out for the first month+ of the season...you suck. It's quite possible to suck without giving up a lot of home runs, especially if you're a soft tosser. If you throw slowly and without a lot of movement then the opposition can time their swings to hit 'em where they ain't. This is what they've been doing to Thomas Glavine. This does not mean that he's unlucky or misunderstood...it means he's stinking up the joint. If he doesn't figure out a way to make it harder for the opposition to direct their hits he will continue to stink. No amount of referencing his glorious past will help, announcers. He is not Tom Glavine of 10 years ago. He's not even Tom Glavine of 10 months ago. He SUCKS.

How will Tom Glavine do today in the game against the Milwaukee Brew Crew?

Poll #490042 How will Tom Glavine give this game away?

What will Tom Glavine do to slam the door shut on the 4 game winning streak?

He will put Spanish fly in Cliff Floyd's oatmeal so Floyd will spend the whole game humping the foul poll and not hitting home runs
1(10.0%)
He will call out the location of each of his pitches. I.E. "Fastball, over the middle of the plate." "Changeup over the middle." "Hanging slider, over the middle."
3(30.0%)
He will convince the team that today is backwards day and force them to bat looking towards the homeplate umpire instead of the mound.
0(0.0%)
He will not pitch but instead just run into the outfield and hurl the ball over the fence.
0(0.0%)
Nothing special, his normal level of suckiness should be more than enough.
6(60.0%)

How many runs will Tom Glavine give up today?

10-20
3(30.0%)
20-50
0(0.0%)
50-200
2(20.0%)
200-1000

When will the Mets be out of the game today?

By the third inning
1(10.0%)
By the top of the second
1(10.0%)
By the time the lineup card is finalized with Glavine on it
3(30.0%)
Back when they signed Atlanta Braves double agent Tom Glavine

GLAVINE IS THE WINNER! [04 May 2005|03:25pm]

socratic
[ mood | crazy ]

Sports Illustrated Columnist Jacob Luft has put up a comparison between Atlanta Braves double agent Tom Glavine and over-the-hill wall-puncher Kevin Brown. In it he says that Tom Glavine is the better player because he can fix what's wrong with him while all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Brown back together again.

Luft is right, of course. When the Atlanta Braves are sure that the New York Mets are no longer a threat to them Tom Glavine will turn into a superstar against the rest of baseball, thus assuring him 200 innings pitched and another year on the Mets Roster. That is the way of the Glavine and none of us can doubt it. Tom Glavine has the power, he just refuses to use it. This is how he victimizes us and our family. This is how he makes us cry.

The Question on Everyone's Mind [04 May 2005|11:29am]

socratic
[ mood | contemplative ]

Sometimes here at glavine_support we need to judge how people feel about certain Tom Glavine related events. At those points we use a poll, which is totally scientific. Then we cry because Tom Glavine sucks at pitching for the New York Mets and will NEVER retire.

Poll #487592 Is it okay to run away from Tom Glavine?

If runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks had been engaged to be married to New York Mets pitcher Tom Glavine would that have made her fleeing acceptable?

Yes
1(9.1%)
No
0(0.0%)
Acceptable? Necessary!
2(18.2%)
No, she should have stayed and tied him up to prevent him from pitching!

First Post [04 May 2005|09:47am]

socratic
[ mood | cranky ]

This is the inaugural post of the Mets Fan Tom Glavine support group on Live journal. Last night Tom Glavine inappropriately gave up one billion runs to the rival Philadelphia Phillies because the Braves currently believe the Mets to be a greater threat than the Phillies are. If the Phillies were the greater threat then Tom Glavine would have pitched a one hit shutout to assure the Braves of continued success (The Braves would never allow the Mets to have a no-hitter.)

This is for those of us who have felt the pain of watching Tom Glavine pitch for another team while the New York Mets pay him money that could have brought Carlos Delgado to us, or possibly put us in the Vlad Guerrero sweepstakes earlier. Let your Tom Glavine based pain out.

It's okay to cry here. Nobody will judge.
